Nora Owen regarding proposed new runway at Dublin Airport

Dear Deputy
I refer to your recent letter on behalf of Portmarnock Community Association concerning aircraft testing at unsociable hours, such as early on Sunday mornings or late on weekend evenings.

There are no conditions relating to engine testing attached to the planning permissions granted for aircraft maintenance facilities at Dublin Airport.

The testing of aircraft engines in conjunction with this facility would not require planning permission.

The noise emanating from such testing may be subject to the requirements of the Environment Protection Agency Act and I have referred your letter to the Council's Environment Department, for attention and direct reply to you.

Yours sincerely
Liam McGlynn Senior Execitive Officer
Fingal County Council
