Letter to Tom Morrissey

March 2007

Thank you for your local circular.
Tom, you appear to be a decent man but we believe you that you are being poorly advised. It is inconceivable that you could put forward a strong and logical case for the relocation of Dublin port and at the same time dismiss out of hand our case for a study on a second Dublin Airport as a balanced approach to the planning of airport infrastructure for the next 20years.

Your "bog" comments at your annual conference were unworthy of you or your party. We would be happy to discuss this matter further with you as we intend to play an active part in the forthcoming election race. You will be aware of the extensive investigation of our case at Bord Pleanala which has now obliged the DAA and FCoCo to correct major deficiences in their case.

A decision, which will not now be issued before end of July 07, suggests at the very least our community deserves more from those seeking to represent us in the Dail. "Honesty in politics" or get elected at all cost, I wonder which is your real slogan.

Brian Byrne , chair, Portmarnock Community Association
